Mumbai is very different to how i imagined it would be. Its a city so I thought there would be less poverty than other parts. Theres poverty everywhere. Its so different to what we're used to and so different to anywhere else i've ever been. Its hard to describe. You have to have a hard heart to walk around Mumbai and i'm guessing other parts of India as well. It's s stark contrast between extreme poverty and extreme beauty one minute you'll be looking and sick babies and the next the most beautiful temple. There are sick people everywhere, children playing in dirt and in the road, unimaginable living conditions, people peeing and washing in the streets. But at the same time the community works together and is tighty knit, the children are adorable and generaly the people are kind and helpful . Their everyday struggles are so different from ours. Everybody stares at us because we're white yesterday me and emma didnt see another white person. Tommorow morning we're getting a train to Goa. I'm having a great time and emma's a great travel partner. We support each other which is so important right now. Theres a lot to take in here and it can be overwhelming but every corner i turn i learn something new.
