This trip was a blast - even though it was sleeting and nasty at 5am the day I left home. I was cruddy out most of the whole way down, so all four of us wore most of the riding gear we were taking with us, plus our rainsuits and helmets. We rode 600 miles the first day, and the remaining 120 or so the next, arriving at the NC/SC border in sunny weather. We had stripped off most of our riding gear by the time we got to SC, and ditched the helmets 10 feet across the state line! Talk about a party! I've never seen so many bikers and bikes in one place...This was my first "big" bike rally. The four of us gals, who had been passed on the highway by GUYS pulling their bikes on TRAILERS, were the talk of the town. Seemed like everyone knew us as the "gals who rode from Ohio". Our condo was awesome - although not right on the beach, we did have a view of it between the beachfront buildings. Great place, nice pool. Most of the picure are of us all paryting and having a good time. I did take a side-trip for a day on the bike with two guys, one from NY, one from CT, that I had met. We rode out to check out the landscape - which turned out to be mostly flat and boring. But, we still had fun, cuz we were RIDING!
