Gorgeous day for riding from Indian River, Michigan to mi casa. 424 miles today, in the sunshine! Not as much holiday traffic as I expected on the roads.
IN TOTAL - I RODE 11,132 MILES ON THIS TRIP! WOW! My butt feels it, too.
Stopped at the Lake Erie Harley Davidson shop to take a picture, even though they were closed for the holiday today. See guys, I brought the bike back in one piece!
I pity the person who has to wash and detail it...
Mixed feelings today - SO very glad to be home, but really miss seeing all the sights and meeting all the folks along the way. Interesting people from all over the world. Amazing where people end up!
I am exhausted, but exhilarated at the same time. I never thought I could accomplish a ride like this. It truly tested my riding skills as we rode on some very rough terrain, in some not-so-pleasant weather, and me on a bike that wasn't outfitted for me.
My biggest accomplishment was riding the TOP OF THE WORLD HIGHWAY from the Yukon Territory to Alaska. And on a big Harley! I'd have to say it was 130 miles of pure hell on two-wheels! Some riders didn't make it - I heard the one guy who went down the day before we crossed ended up dying a few days later in Anchorage.
The ALCAN highway was another challenge with all the frost-heaves, and gravel from the construction. Very slippery with that s*** (calcium silicate) they put down on it to fill the gravel, then wet it down. Like riding on snot!
BUT, I AM HOME, AND IN ONE PIECE! Hope you all enjoyed reading my blogs along the way! :)

CindyM Sandi, You're awesome. I got started on the blog a bit late, obviously, but really enjoyed reading about your trip and seeing the pictures. You really did it! Way to enjoy retirement! Glad you made it home in one piece.
DavenDeb Sandi...Congrats on your trip. My wife and I are planning the same trip next year but I traded our '08 StreetGlide for an '09 TriGlide. Thought it would be a little less worrisome.
Sandi Roads are a mess, and there's loads of construction. My rental bike was in bad shape when I turned it in!
Larry I'm the old fart who acted as tour guide on this ride. Sandi, you can ride with me any time. You are a great lady and rider. Larry
SAndi Thanks, Old Fart! (I mean, Larry)....I appreciated the guidance on the trip!
