Med-2023
Got up at 7am, and on the road at 830am for Helen, Georgia. A little overcast this morning, but it cleared up nicely!
Gorgeous on Rt 19 in the Nantahala Forest Region; riding by the river and watching folks floating down on tubes.
136 miles down, and my shoulders were killing me from all the fun curves. I need a lighter bike....oh wait! I HAVE a lighter bike! I would love to ride the Ducati around down here.
Had a nice lunch in Helen, at the Cafe International. I had a bratwurst in a roll with sauerkraut and cheese. AWESOME! Todd had a prime rib sandwich that could have fed a small village. GREAT view on the outside deck overlooking the Chattahoochee River. Lots of folks floating by on tubes and having a great time.
We had to park on a very steep hill, so I asked the four White County Sheriff's deputies who were eating lunch to let us know if our bikes rolled down the hill....they laughed and asked if they should wait until after we finished our lunch to tell us.
Walked around Helen and took a few nice pictures of the architecture, and got some penuche fudge at Hansel and Gretel candy shop.
Buzzed back and stopped to get some laundry soap in Waynesville. Chilling tonight and doing some laundry.
I love riding down here, but it is much more tiring than straight "highway humping"!
