MaryAnn, Dorothy, Michelle and I took off and went to the Renaissance Fayre in downtown Florence. Nice fair! I bought a silver foxtail for my motorcycle for $12. Lots of folks dressed up on costumes.
We went to the little art musuem in Florence where I bought a magnet in the gift shop. They have large welded iron statues there, and all over town.
Then, we headed to the Helen Keller House (Ivey Green) in Tuscumbia, Alabama (how many of you knew she was from Alabama????) Very neat tour, very, very interesting life she was able to make for herself with her disabilities. Just amazing.
Drove though a couple of the parks near the lakes - very nice area, very nice old houses.
Went to the University of Northern Alabama to see the lion den. The school has a pair of lions as their mascots and keep them in a gorgeous compound on the campus. Nice big fountain in the campus center.
MaryAnn tried to find the house that Tom Sr. was born in; we drove down the street but she couldn't remember which house it was.
This is a very neat area, and the weather was gorgeous today; about 78 and NOT humid!
Michelle and I are heading out early tomorrow morning to get her back to Columbus.

Sandi Valois Hi Tina - yes, I knew about Patty Duke. I had no idea Helen Keller was from Alabama until I went to visit my ex in-laws!
