Today was my last day in New York to get my last little things in that I hadn't yet done so I packed up early and checked out. First on the list was to get a cannoli from Carlos bakery on Times Square. I wasn't blown away by the place, it didn't feel very authentic but the cannoli was nice and perked me up for the rest of the day! Got Tams a little pressie too ;) Next, I went straight to strawberry fields in Central Park to see the John Lennon mosaic and had a wander down to the lake and now bridge. I love the tranquility of the park and think that the crowds of people and little horse and cart rides going on, add to the atmosphere. Pretty proud of myself for then hailing a yellow cab back to the shops on Columbus circle and 5th avenue for a last minute look around and bought a few souvenirs before jumping in a cab to the hotel to meet the group for my trip! The group is all girls, 9 of us in total plus the guide and all seem really nice so far! The hotel feels like pure luxury with big double beds and we walked as a group to the high street in queens by our hotel for pizza for dinner. Every single person we walked by said "woah" or made a comment about "white girls" or how we stuck out and were clearly from out of town! We were laughing until me and another girl went to get chicken while the others stayed to wait for pizza and the friendly police officers stopped us and said to stick together with our group as it's dangerous and we stick out so much! Great start to the trip! Haha :) I was laughing with the other older girls but the 18 year olds practically sprinted back to the hotel! Looking forward to Philadelphia and Washington tomorrow though! Yay!
