I used to own a lovely Moschino denim jacket that fastened at the front and back. Oh how i loved that jacket! I wore it everywhere! I became known for it as "Wrong Way Round Ruth". (Many people would comment on it: "oi, love, you've got your jacket on back to fr...oh...hang on..." And, of course, I'd pretend I'd never heard that statement before (polite to the end...hmmm...)
I was recently reminded of that very lovely jacket when I bumped into someone I'd not seen since I used to wear it (mid 90s). She referred to me as Wrong Way Round Ruth while we were reminiscing over our adventures in our much younger years.
But, it got me thinking. Everyday, in everything we do, we are making memories. For ourselves and for others. Although, at the time, with the smallest of our actions, we don't actually realise it.
I'm about to embark on a huge trip; the longest and furthest I've ever travelled and I'm very much aware that every day I'll be making some of the biggest memories I'll ever have.
I'm starting this blog to help me savour these memory making moments, and to ensure I don't forget any of it, as my travels, and my life, rolls on. It's also a way for family and friends to know what I'm up to.
They/you can dip in and out of it at your leisure. And I hope it will bring a smile to their/your face. Possibly even a chuckle. Occasionally a roll of the eyes (I'm sure). But most definitely a memory of me and memories for my future.
