seems im not very good at this blogging thing...
quick run down of what i've done so far, Ill try and keep a more regular blog so i dont forget stuff.
Thursday i got the star ferry over to Kowloon and walked down the avenue of stars, I knew 3 of them, Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan and Jet Li, the rest were all chinese stars...I put my hand in the hand marks of Jackie Chan for a pic.
Everyone here is photo mad, the chinese people have a set number of poses to do when taking photos its funny to watch. and also I saw on the front 2 brides and grooms, in full wedding dress and suit getting their photos taken, showing hong kong island in the back ground. Apparently it is common for brides and grooms to get their photos taken before their wedding so copies of the wedding pictures can be given out to guests at the ceremony.
Went to starbucks, goot a caramel frappuchinno...never had one before, dont know why i decided to have one now but it was nice and refreshing, it was a very hot day, I found out later as i had sun burnt shoulders and bad vest top tan lines :(
Thursday night I took the train back over to Kowloon to watch the symphony of Lights, which is a light show that lights up all the buildings in hong Kong to music, it was good, although the commentary was in Cantonese..apparently the language alternates daily between english and cantonese, i picked the wrong day. There are kiosks along the front, they where shut during the day, but now were open, selling dried cuttlefish snacks... not a very nice smell, kind of smells like a beach in north wales when the tides out, but worse.
Went for a traditional chinese in the Princess Garden. It was nice, I ate with chopsticks, had pork dumplings, basically sui mais, to start and a chicken and pine nuts with chilli sauce in lettuce, with boiled rice. I enjoyed it.
Friday was Disneyland day!! got the train from Hong Kong Station to Sunny Bay, where you catch the Disney Train to the resort. I arrived around quarter to 10 and was able to get a ticket then queue up until the park opened at 10. Once inside, only the maine street was open until half 10 so there was a bit of a crowd forming. it wasnt too busy though.
the lion king theatre show is well worth a watch, it was like a proper musical!!, went on a river congo ride which was ok, winnie the pooh ride, buzz light years space moutain and a car ride. the park wasnt very big but there was plenty to do. was lucky it wasnt such a busy day as we didnt have to queue for rides too much.
Went out friday night, most bars have happy hour, cheap, strong cocktails from 3 til 8.. i dont remember much from that night. Saturday was a right off...
Sunday went to watch the Rugby world Cup final in a pub called the Yorkshire Pudding the went for something to eat.
It always seems busy here, but in a good way
