Nomad Nads
Since our last postcard we have done quite a lot;
Firstly had a horrible overnight bus journey from Airlie to Cairns, arriving at 5.50am! ba humbug! to then pick up a transfer at 7am to Port Douglas. The journey was worth it though as Port is a really chilled out place. We landed on our feet (yet again!) by gettin a really good hostel called Parrotfish with helpful staff, lounge area and pool. More importantly the beds proved to be very comfortable as we slept a record 17 hours!!!!!!!
The following day we woke nice and early (no suprise there!) and managed to get on a gorgeous authentic Chinese Junk boat called Shaolin and went out to the reef (again - no apologies the reef is stunning and we had to see it once more). The crew on the boat were really nice as were all the other guests. We spent the whole day out on the reef with mango wine (yummy yummy) and a good feed too. A good night was then had as we had a Thai and met up with the Melbourne boys from the boat who were very kind and supplied us with Bombay Sapphire, Chocolate Haze cocktails and entertainment all night (thanks very much Matt, Paul and Rick - looking forward to seeing you tomorrow).
So today we went to Cape Tribulation, Mossman Gorge, Daintree River (saw a 2 week old croc...very cute (honest!)) and the Daintree Ice Cream Factory. Here we sampled Wattleseed Ice cream....very yummy, kind of mocha flavour.
We have just arrived at our hostel for the next two nights and its pretty darn good so we are well chuffed. Gonna try and head to bed early as we have a VERY early start (4.15am!!!!!) tomorrow. Not gonna tell you why....you are just gonna have to wait till our next installment.....
Till then have fun and goodnight from Nadine and Pip xx
