Nomad Nads
So...just got back from 2 day Sand Safari on Fraser Island, the biggest all sand island in the world. It is a really lovely place but i'm afraid Pip has brought the bloody British weather with her....will send her back home if she keeps this up!! Despite the odd shower we still had a great time and met some lovely people.
We visited Indian Head; the best lookout point on the island (named by Captain Cook in 1770 when he sailed past and noticed the natives standing on the rocky promontory), the beautiful rainforests of Central Station and Lake McKenzie; one of the islands 100 freshwater lakes (pictured) with the clearest water and the whitest sand ever! The latter served as a huge beauty spa with the mineral water cleansing the skin and hair and the sand serving as excellent exfoliator and jewlery cleaner...
Jokes, riddles, stories and card games were played and told by the BBQ till the early hours of the morning. We have certainly not gone hungry this weekend!
So we are gonna chill here for a day then head to Airlie Beach for our 3 day Whitsunday Cruise....tough life eh??!
