Nomad Nads
Well as you probably gathered from the last postcard things were starting to get to me here so...i decided to do something about it...i went travelling......
Spent 3 days in Byron Bay. Had a great time as the Jazz Roots and Blues Festival was on over the easter break. Just basically chilled out listening to great music, eating, drinking, swimming and went snorkelling off the Julian Rocks (one of the top 10 dive sites in the world); saw Leopard Sharks, Turtles, Stingrays and loads of really stunningly coloured fish. Great day. Bumped into two of my old flatmates which was good (Hi Jasmine; hope you are not too cold in Canada, hi Carla; hope you managed to get a job in melbourne x). Then went to The Piggery with a room mate and watched a film (its a lie down cinema - very relaxing). Felt very realxed on my return - even if i did end up bringing a bloody cold back with me!
Then on Saturday i went to Inskip Point with my boss and some of his friends for 3 days camping at Sarawak. Clear sea....white sand...lovely people...fresh fish and best of all.... 5.7L, 355cubic square inches and 387 break horse power of Holden Chevy Nissan Patrol muscle at my disposal!! Need i say more!?!?? Absolutely Bloody Fantastic. Trucks Trucks and more Trucks - such great fun. The whole place alive with testosterone fuelled V8s!!!! Have learnt a lot about engines this weekend - watch out britain i'm coming back in september!! rrraarrgghh. It is such a beautiful part of the world and could have easily spent much longer there despite the bloody bush turkeys waking me up at 5am every morning!! i have to say a huge thankyou to Shane and his wonderful hospitality. I returned to Brisbane feeling very fresh, alive, rested and exhausted all at the same time! quite a feat.
Well it is less than a week till Pip arrives now - yey!!
