So I hitched with James, Michael and Jorg from Nelson through Charleston (stayed in incredible Beaconstone Lodge right on Cape Foulwind, next to the largest Seal Colony!!) and Barrytown and am now in Hokitika. Stayed two days in Barrytown and had a fantastic time. Made a knife - more impressive than it sounds trust me. Got on really well with the owners Steve and Robyn - so much so that we ended up staying all evening, they cooked a lovely curry for me and Jorg (Michael and James went onto Greymouth) and then we all watched the sunset over the Tasman sea. Amazing x The Hexagon place where we stayed was truly unique right on the coast with lovely open log fire! Managed to hitch here with Stray! Probably gonna stay here for a day or so - get some washing done - then head onto the glaciers.
