HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!
So I've finally done it - had New Year in Sydney, infront of the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge! Tick. And what an experience it was! Met up with Joerg and his best mate Alex, plus his girlfriend Annie, Simon, Ryan and a random Isreli that Hels picked up, so was with a good group of people. Started out in Jacksons (cheap bubbly) then went to the park laden with chocolate and alcohol...then headed to Circular Quay to see the fireworks. They were quite something and the atmosphere around the city was a really nice chilled out vibe (although its definately gonna be a quiet one for me next year as there were too many people for my liking). I would love to see the footage from the news helicopters though - just to see what it looked like from the air (and see if i can see myself of course!). Running for a bloody ferry at 6.30am this morning was not so much fun! Only had a few hours sleep and have to start packing for tomorrow. Possibly not the best way to start the new year but hey - it was fun x
So i leave Sydney tomorrow - gonna do a spot of WWOOFing (Willing Workers On Organic Farms where you work in exchange for a bed and food) to save money and work my way to Cairns. I have heard many stories about the Whitsundays and Fraser Island so i am keen to get to Queensland (plus its meant to be hotter there - only bout 25/27degrees here and about 33 there!). So, this farm i am going on is a 764acre cattle farm near the outback, therefore i doubt they have internet so if you don't hear from me for a while that is why. My initial stay there is 1 week.
Hope everyone had a great new year - see how long you can keep your resolutions......
Take Care
