Wow this place is great!
My hostel is right on the beach and i'm sharing a room with 6 really nice people. Went out for a meal last night and had freshly caught Marlin - very tasty indeed. Breakfast this morning was freshly picked coconut and melon off the beach outside our room!
Went kayaking in the lagoon today with some fellow room mates which was a lot of fun - saw some really colourful fish and funny shaped trees. The weather is not fantastic but it is still warm and very pleasant. Off spear-fishing tomorrow and am hoping to do the island trek which is where you trek from one side of the island to the other over the mountainous terrain.
Sorry i have not been able to update this site very regulalry - the internet is really slow and expensive here. I'm hoping it'll be easier to do so once in NZ. This is also why i haven't been able to put any photos on yet but will do asap.
I can't believe that i have only been gone a few days and already i can see me gettin into the whole travel scene. Day one we learnt that "if you need a watch - you are in the wrong place", and they have a point. Time is of no consequence here (except for catching a plane or something!). The bus into town is 'clockwise' or 'anti-clockwise', and thats it! Life seems so much simpler here :0)
Gotto go, out into town tonight for a large one, hope all is well back in the UK.
Take care
Nadine xx
