So last night we visited a nearby school to help the students with their english. It was great - they are quite amazing, some had only been learning for 3 months and they were practically fluent! The school motto is "Success in English. Success in Life.", basically if they do not learn english they can never work for a European Company which offer better pay, hours, conditions and holidays than the Taiwanese, Korean and Chinese companies. Some of them have had to save for many many years to be able to afford to come to this school! It certainly makes you appreciate just how lucky we are. They supplied snacks and beer all evening which helped the conversation along! and then Kathryn and I managed to find some chocolate cake to finish the night off with! Thoroughly enjoyed the cooking school. The kitchens were set in a small farmhouse overlooking fields and mountains. Not only learnt about the different types of Chinese dishes; Ying and Yang, for calming and energising but also sampled ingredients with medicinal properties and basically spent the entire day eating! Perfect! Had a couple of hours to 'Relax' (Jenson's favourite saying!) before cathcing the night train to Yichang. Should arrive midday to get on boat for 3 day Yangatze river cruise.
