Poked around coober a bit after breaky and a shower and a few repairs on the rear lights of Nichols car. Bought a sticker from the hostel for the car. Looked for a post office, couldn't find it. Bought tissues finally. Went to the opal shop it was closed, went noodling...it is gay! Found white quartzy thing, and decided that that'd do. Had a super hot $7 coffee at an underground cafe, went to an opal place and the dude showed us where and how to cut and polish the opals. Decided that cobbler pedy is the new Greece! Bought a ring and some earings from a Greek guy that looked like 'doc' from back to the future. Found the post office, there u go ebay peeps! Went to the 'working mine' which no longer works but didn't take the tour. Went to see the baby wind turbine then hit the road to William's creek on the williams creek road. Saw a wily wily which we narrowly avoided. A stop at williams creek for lunch... We saw the pub and 'Check' williams creek, done! Checked out coward springs, everything is made with bits of the old gahn. Pretty cool campsite with a natural spring spa and a wetland but a bit early to stop for the day.
A cruise past curdimurka siding next stop, lake eyre 12m below sea level on through marree, past the yacht club then onward and upward! Finally landed at farina downs deciding that it was probably going to be the best place within the next few hundred kilometers. Pretty nice, old ruins, nice facilities although I'm worried about the lack of provided fire wood for the hot water fire, toilets and it's only $5 per person per night... Not bad
