Down the old coach road to maytown today. What a tricky road, lots of steep rocky climbs and some epic 'mountains' to climb! There wasn't much left of maytown, an old good mining town which seemed to be quite big in its heyday. You could still see the cobbled road (well the edges) and some very minuscule remnants of buildings. Interestingly there was a press release saying how the national parks had re-built some of the old houses for people to view but had not maintained it so the historical society peeps are in like a guerrilla war with then maintaining these odds and bobs after being told not to touch. It all seems a bit weird! Anyway, we're going to camp but people decided that there were no good spots so we powered on to the road house; first night driving in a while and there were cows everywhere on the road! Had a nice dinner, great prices and a really nice roadhouse, more what we were expecting all along.
