Left a bit later after a shower today and headed to coen for some fuel and supplies, met a nice shop lady; quite a character! Bit of cable tie bush mechanics on the phone holder that broke off, Then up the road to the swimmin' hole (no crocs here) had a bite to eat, a little paddle and on to tonight's destination. Soooo maaaany coooregatiooooooons!! Few road side stops... Lost a speedo's function and tyre troubles; not for us (for once!). Off to bremwell junction...

Packed up and headed out towards the main drag today. It will be nice to have a shower tonight! After a little break to fix the cars at the ruins we passed yesterday (had to back track from cape melville) drove on and stopped beside a river with some really sticky red mud, no croc sightings along the way despite signs saying there have been recent sightings, oh well I'm sure there's time. Bit of a shorter day today, left at 9 and headed in and out of melville national park. Saw some old mine/farm type ruins, passed some other cars then headed toward the tip of cape melville, beautiful beaches, water looks so nice but can't swim :( well you could but you may get eaten!! Bit of a tricky, slow drive today lots of ups and down. Stopped at cooktown for the IGA and some fuel and a sneaky pressie for Lewis and on the road again. Lunch at starkey river where we were originally going to camp but looked a bit yuko so decided to keep on truckin'. Left cairns bright and early, leaving the ensuite behind, it had a good workout with 14 people!! Went on the ferry across the daintree river at a high old fee of $13 plus the extra charge for an invisible trailer! Stopped at the discovery centre but a $64 dollar walk is not really in our budget, so on we go. Stopped to see where the Forrest meets the sea for lunch and a Croc sighting on wujal wujal falls.
