Down the old coach road to maytown today. What a tricky road, lots of steep rocky climbs and some epic 'mountains' to climb! There wasn't much left of maytown, an old good mining town which seemed to be quite big in its heyday. A nice short day today. Quickish stop at musgrave roadhouse for a wee and a snack then headed up the road to Laura. A very historic little town, once a meeting place and main junction for a gold railway, also home to a local mounted police unit which would track and capture people around the area. They were also called into Victoria to track need Kelly, so there you go! Hung around a bit and had a delicious roll while the others had lunch at the pub and we decide...

Trucked on down a dodgy bit of the PDR soooo Many corrugations! Then a stop at archer river road house for an ice cream and a quick fix of tim's broken battery terminal (he couldn't even lock the car!) and off to the bends where we stopped for lunch on the way up just outside of coen. Lucky we got in when we did because she is a popular spot. Prawns for dinner and a cheeky wine ready for the journey to laura tomorrow.

Nice shower this morning, feel much better. Off to check out chilli beach just up the road and the local town and airstrip. Well chilli beach was nothing super special. Lots of pumus stone which will be awesome for scrubbing all this dirt off my feet!
