Went to have a shower at the artesian bore shower this morning, not sure if I smell better or worse after it? Anyway, I feel better! Went to the information centre where thy are apparently not allowed to make recommendations or mention the working mines... Weirdos!! So off we went to the mine that the Internet said was a working mine. It was quite cool actually, down something like 113 stairs I think i read and a wander around the mine. Old mate who owns the property co-incidentally was giving a guides tour as we were there so we tagged along with that and learnt lots of interesting tid bits about the previous owner and a film made in there, there was also stuff about opal mining and directions to the airport via sneaky underground passages. Went on the yellow car door tour which is a self guided driving tour of different areas in lightning ridge, they give you an information sheet for $1 at the information place and you follow the painted car door signs, a good way to see something different. On to wallget (dunno about the spelling on that one) where We saw a cute little market and popped in for an ice cream and some tomatoes then into changs for some chippies and a fish by the river... It seems that the fish are not wanting to be Nichol's friends at the mo' So sandwiches for lunch! After lunch we headed on to dubbo. Found a nice little spot just before it by the river where we will call home with all the other old people here. Set up the mammock and had a swing for a bit but into bed early because it is getting so cold now (boo to you NSW!).
