We woke up early ready to go exploring. We started the day with a quick breakfast at the 'revolution cafe' where we all ate for under 10 dollars ... I love you already Nepal! And then went for a little cruise around town to check out some of the stores and get the last minute things that we needed for the trek.
It is the strangest thing ... there does not seem to be footpaths anywhere, everyone walks on the road with the cars and the rules seem to go like this (for cars and people) ... Do what you like as long as you make a great deal of noise when trying to go around the others on the road!! oh and if there is a cow, eating rubbish, playing around or just having a little nanna nap on the road, just go 'round without disturbing it!
After a lunch of beer and snackage we went out again to finish off the shopping and met everyone we were to be treking with in the garden of the Shakti hotel. Might I say ... you go all the way to Asia and end up with a bunch of Aussies ... far out, you can't escape us anywhere!
Our first impressions of our guide was that of disorganisation considering after the meeting we had to find a photo place to get emergency passport photos for Jordan's treaking pass (which we were not told about). I do have to add to this; once we got underway everything was well under control ... we love you Lahkpa!
Early to bed tonight for a crack of dawn awakening to catch the flight to "the world's deadliest airport" (according to 7Mate)!
