Another bit of a sleep in this morning then a quick stop in at the coffee shop up the street (cairns prices but much nicer) then for a toilet stop at a French cafe that looked onto the rice fields - kinda cool how they are in the middle of a busy town, then a wander down to the monkey forest whereas were last night. Doesn't look nearly as sinister in the day time, in fact it is quite nice and there are a number of nice looking hotels/ inns, still don't know that I would like to be there at night. All the monkeys were out looking for food and pinching it from people's offerings to the gods!
After the monkeys we went for a walk to the Antonio blanco museum but decided that at 80,000 we didn't want to see it that much, it's not even on any of the things to see maps.
Just up from the gallery there was this really cool little bridge that has since been replaced with a much sturdier road bridge but it looked really pretty. On the at back we thought that we'd stop in at this nice place we saw on the way down to the gallery and had a snack overlooking a little stream and some houses that had been built on the hill, they looked pretty cool, it would be a nice place to live. We then went for a walk down a very nicely built walkway to see what we could see and turns out it was just to a temple by the stream, quite nice but so much work and infrastructure for one little thing - strange priorities here.
I am also really coming to see why people say to stay in Ubud, there are these sneaky little templates, ornate doorways and surprises everywhere. We were just walking along the street and saw this fabulous looking temple with a beautiful lotus flower water garden out the front without even looking for anything special!
Walking back and saw this busy little warung that was reminiscent of a soup kitchen so stopped in for lunch - food to rival the first place we ate although still no delicious tea.
Arrived back home for a little rest and while Nichol was having a lie down I went and bought a $1 fan from a lady who had a massive goiter, then back home for some more relaxing and looking at the lovely view of the village.
Up the street for a drink at the schnitzel warung - very Balinese and got some delicious free talk as dip thing to go with then wandered on and went to a cool looking place for dinner that over looked some rice fields. The food was pretty average but the view was nice. After being eaten by bugs that obviously flourish in the damp rice fields we headed home for the day.
Can't say we achieved much today but it was still awesome!
