Nearly caught up with the blogging ... Yay!
This morning we went for a wander to try and find a place who's breakfast was as delicious as the first place that we went. No dice, it seems that people don't wake up and start cooking until after 10 spall we could find was this dodgy little warung that looked like a soup kitchen, I have decided that warung is Balinese for cantina ... Cheap food, little bit of a surprise.
Back to the hotel to book for another night- this is where the upgrade was a bit of a poo bites looked at the standard room and it smelt very dank so we coughed up the extra five dollerydoos!
Decided that we would walk into Seminyak square today but got halfway and realised that we had left important things in the room headed back and caught a cab in (living the high life it cost a total of $3). It is a bit of a long way from the hotel but there are things to see and people to hassle you most of the way anyway, also you are constantly being beeped by taxis so if you change your mind it's not hard to get a lift.
So Seminyak square was very exciting and very built up, definitely no third world here, it kinda reminded me of something you might see in Balmian on market day! With no bargains to be had we trundled on to the street to head back, or so we thought...Google took us on a fun little journey into someone's backyard but nichol's keen navigating soon found us back on track. It was kinda nice back there though, no annoying bogans or taxis beeping you!
Stopped in for a foot massage, not much chop (to quote Nichol). They seem to have gone down hill since we're in the more densely tourist populated area, probably with good reason.
We stopped in at Japanese for lunch - pretty good although there's not too much to go wrong with what we chose, after all the heavy food at the resort we're both craving lighter meals.
Another massage later, mine was old although Nichol seemed to have had a ring in working on him and said it was the worst one yet!
Finished the walk back to our place where we had a bit of a relax too work out our next move then head into Seminyak beach for dinner.
So on the way this little market place just up the road had sprung into life with delicious food so we went and got some money out and had dinner there. We had this amazing fish that this dude cooked on some burning coconuts and some mee goreng, I dunno what the sauce was on the fish but it was awesome and with 2 beers was under $10! I love street food.
We decided that we had had enough of being harassed by pushy people so stayed in.
