ACTUAL DATE: 11th feb. Fresno is the fifth largest Californian city! There u go... Chippies and salsa for breakfast left over from dinner last night and off shopping to get some snacks for today. We drove and drove and drove and stopped in Bakersfield which is a bit of a bogan town, looks like an industrial town. Couldn't did anything that wasn't a burger so we went to the bogan supermarket/ food warehouse and bought some rolls, avocado (which taste awesome here). Drive, drive, drive some more and the terrain is changing rapidly. Hills and rocks to flat Australian desert type terrain. Finally landed in panamint springs resort (not quite a resort)just shy of Death Valley, may have fessed on but not sure of the accommodation situation. Had an interesting dinner of 'chilly fries' which was quite nice and a few drinkies. The power went out and we had to use some old kero lamps for a while which was fun but luckily it came back on before we went to bed which was good because it meant i could have a bath and the heater could be on tonight!! Yay. Exploring Death Valley and Las Vegas tomorrow... I'm excited! I may even try my hand at driving!'
