ACTUAL DATE: 10th feb...Gong xi fa cai!! Got up early and had a bagel from the new Costco toaster using the special bagel setting (apparently in America you only toast one side of the bagel) went into San Fran city to return a jacket that I bought for not being warm enough... If it struggles in California, imagine it in Canada!! Drove along the scary highways out of the cities and drive through the funny little hick towns; this is the joy of driving!!
Yosemite info station 1610fm not real useful though. Stopped at grubs for a sanwichy snack just outside of Yosemite... SNOW!! (Sort of, just a little bit on the side of the road). DEER!! Pretty winding roads a few vista points and a car in a ditch which held the traffic up for ages ... Still stuck. Not totally sure of what we're waiting for, the ranger put flares on the road and left us all sitting here for ages. Getting tired of sitting here, getting concerned; it's not even arvo tea time and its 0 degrees!! Lolly gagers coming to check it all out. Finally underway and stuck behind nanna in an escape... Grrrr. After much beeping he finally pulled over and we headed out of the park, past an Indian casino, some more hick towns (who do carvings in wood to sell on the roadside) and pasture land bak onto a main road in central California (please read with an American accent) and we arrived in the city of Fresno and discovered that the nicer motels are a little pricy, like 100 excluding tax so we moved on to another one in the dodgy part of town, it smells a little wired but I can't see bugs so its all good!! Chilis for dinner ad of to bed.
