We do have a proper toilet and a shower! I was expecting just a bucket. The shower is cold but its quite nice. When we were in a hostel we had a warm shower and I chose to have a cold one anyway, which is strange for me because I normally have showers boiling!
There is a washing machine that we can use but the clothes out here run so much that we use a bucket anyway. I think I'll just do undies and sheets in the machine!
I locked myself out last night. I went to the guard to try and explain that I had left my key inside my room and it locked when I closed the door, but he didn't understand me. Every time I said "Key" he thought I said "Paini" which is Bangla for water! When I tried to mime a key in lock it looked a bit rude but I only realised that afterwards! He came up in the end and I showed him my locked door, then he got it and went to get another man who had a spare key for me. He gave me a demonstration of how to lock and unlock the door which was embarrassing but he knows the I'm new here and was being nice. Then when I got into bed I could hear cockroaches scurrying about so I slept in the spare room anyway! There seems to be less today, don't know what it was, but I tuck my mosquito net right underneath just in-case! The accommodation is a lot nicer than I expected. I'm a bit of a wimp for lighting the hob with a match! There is a water filter and the house keeper boils loads of water for hours then when its cold pours it in, so we don't have to buy bottles all the time. We are being well looked after and everyone is really friendly and happy to see us.

I'm really happy to be here and enjoying it, I would be disappointed if you said I have to go home tomorrow, but I still miss home loads. I miss Will and my mum and being able to text whoever I want whenever I want. I haven't missed english food yet because the food we have cooked for us here is so nice! It is very hot but I only really mind when I have to go to bed. I can't feel the fan through the mosquito net. I feel bad for wasting electricity leaving it on all night but its just so hot! So mostly I miss home at night time.

hows it all going? sounds like youve been doing lots. how is placement? bit different from home eh?! glad youve not got a tummy bug, poor becca, its the worst, although you look like you have nice accomodation, do you have a proper toilet, thats an important issue!
hope you are all well and not missing home, theres not much to miss at the mo, its raining and we are all bored trying to do dissertations, blurgh!
