Today we went downtown (past the site of the World Trade Centres - very creepy), to catch the ferry to Ellis Island. Weather was not so good today - still just as freezing as ever, but overcast as well. The ferry went right past the Statue of Liberty, so got some nice photos, but would have been nicer on a sunny day like all the other days have been.
Ellis Island was this place where I think all the immigrants got stopped form the boats before they were allowed into the States. Now it's just this museum that tells you all about what happened. I didn't really like it cos it was very obvioulsy bias, written by Americans, claiming how well they treated the immigrants, but none of the photos etc tied up with this. I think I really need to get over my annoyance of the American accent, as I still have another week in the States.
BUT, I did get an actual celebrity sighting. Eric Cantona was on our boat. If I was at all interested in football I'm sure I would actually be more excited about this, but still.
In the evening, went to some restaurant owned by Robert De Niro, in the hope of some proper celebrity sightings. Nope. Gutted.
