Heathrow to Bangkok- we flew with kingfisher airline me and Sarah were very impressed we each had our own tv screen so we watched lots of films to keep ourselves entertained.we were also offered a yummy 3 course dinner and cocktails...think the cocktails sold the airline to me :) Bangkok-we arrived on a muggy Thursday evening so tired after 16 hours of flying we decided to opt for a taxi and left trying to work the trains out for another day. Our hostel lub d was a very nice hostel but didn't seem very social everyone seemed to be just keeping themselves to themselves. We went to sleep as soon as we arrived as we were shattered from the travelling. On day 2 we decided as keen tourists to get up at half 8.we went to see the grand palace..which is beautiful!! We thought we could walk from the hostel to the grand palace...Mistake!!after hour and a half of walking in the humid climate, we were sweaty, red, both not even able to talk and found out that we hardly moved on the map so we gave up and opted for a taxi LOL in the afternoon we decided to take the express boat and we wondered around China town where we saw fake everthing..even some impressivecfake kathy kidson stuff!!we made an attempt to buy me an slr while on our wonders but each time we asked a Thai person for directions to a camera shop they said go right go to the right...after taking ten right turns and not finding a camera shop we worked out that instead of I don't know Thai people like to say go right LOL after a long day of walking we treated ourselves to a dinner in a roof top restaurant. Day 3 was a Saturday so we decided to visit the famous weekend market we got there by using the skytrain I must say it's very flash.the Market was impressive there were stalls selling almost everthing...unfortunatelly my backpack is so heavy that I couldn't buy anything :( after we decided to enjoy the sun in a nearby park,we didn't last long thou the sun mixed with the humid Bangkok air gets a little bit too much!! To cool down we decided to spend the afternoon in an airconditioned mall known as MBK. The mall was enormous selling millions of electrical products as well as clothes. We shopped around and I decided to treat myself to an slr camera expensive but with just a week till my birthday it would make an excellent bday present. In the evening we decided that we ought to see one of the famous 'ping pong' shows me and Sarah didn't fancy going on our own so we asked around our hostel if anyone fancied coming with us after a few strange looks we got a couple of volunteers..stu and tom.we took a tuk-tuk there which was pretty fun they drive so crazy out here, the show was an interesting experience the ladies are very skilled they shoot out ping pongs, smoke, blow the trampet, write, pull out meters of string from their ladie bits...CRAZY STUFF after the show we were pretty tromatised and we treated ourselves to some beer. Day 4 we took the express boat (mine and Sarahs favourite way of getting around..it's the cheapest and quickest as you avoid all the traffic) to the Bangkok zoo.we saw all kinds of animals but my favourite were the monkeys one of them lied on it's back to pose for a picture when it realised we had cameras lol it's mad how human like they are. In the evening we met up for dinner with Fran and her group to ask them all their travelling stories as they've been out here for a month already. After we got on the overnight train to Chang Mai. The train was another interesting experience in each booth there was a sofa bed with a bunk bed over it also our waiteress was a he/she who went around and now and then stroked the guy's in our carriage face LOL I had a really good sleep and the fact that the train was moving didn't seem to bother me and I got an amazing 10 hour sleep on the other hand Sarah had a much worse experience and only managed to get a few hours. Day 5 after the 14 hour train journey we were finally in Chang mai we made our way to the hostel we prebooked...a little bird.we shared a tuk-tuk with a few girls we met at the station and one of them, Lauren, decided to come and stay at our hostel. The hostel was very cheap and we were a little bit worried what it would be like but we were pleasantly suprised the hostel was lovely. We shared a room with 2 Canadian girls Gina and Alisa. Once setteled we all went out for lunch together and walked around to see 3 of the Chang Mai temples. For dinner we decided to try out some local food and went to a street noodle soup place. The soup looked very odd it had noodles and pork or beef balls...it suprisingly tasted ok. Day 6 me,Sarah,Gina and Lauren decided to go on a 1 day treck. We booked the full day for ridiculously cheap (550 baht which is £11). Our tour guide picked us up from the hostel. We met Bryan and Danielle on the tour two canadians who are great fun to have around!!we headed for orchid and butterfly farm followed by the elephant farm. The elephants were all suprisingly friendly we got to stroke them and few of the brave ones also fed them bananas. We then got onto a platform and got on the elephant two people per elephant and we set off up the mountains. I was very excited to go on the elephants but two minutes into the ride I was scared for my life they walked up some very steep hills and we were not strapped in I swear at some points I felt like I was holding on for my dear life...LOL after we went trecking to a gorgeous waterfall were we got a chance to cool down. This was followed by White-water rafting and bamboo rafting. Both great laugh :) Sarah fell out of the rubber boat which was hilarious..luckly the man who was steering for us fished her out of the river within seconds and she managed to escape with just a bruised bum after all the helmet and life jacket came usefull. While waiting to be picked up at the bottom of the river we saw some locals bring their elephants to bath in the river one of the elphants was a 3 weeks old baby soooo adorable and watching them all in the river was incredible like a documentary!! On the journey back we stopped off at a tribal village to get an insight into how they live. My fav part was when we spotted a pet monkey it was outside one of the huts I was just fascinated how tiny and cute it was!!soo sooo human like..we fed it crisps LOL and took so many photos it's not often you see a monkey munching on crisps. After the long day we were all shattered but we decided to man up for the evening ahead. We also invited Bryan and Danielle to come and join us for dinner and Tom one of the guys we went to ping pong show with was also in Chang Mai so he came to meet us at our hostel and while he was waiting for us to get ready he met 3 Americans Jen,Adam and Jason who also joined us for dinner. We went for a lovely Mexican, followed by drinks in a roof top bar which was amazing but slightly pricy after a couple we headed back to the hotel for cheap chang (Thai beer) and drinking games. Day 7 we decided to treat ourselves to a layin and in the afternoon we went to the tiger kingdom. The place was insane full of tigers and you can just go in the cage with them and have photos taken with them...that's Thai healthy and safety for you!!LOL me being the baby I am I opted for the baby tigers but still had some awsome photos taken with them. We also watched a train play with two big tiggers he was getting them to jump up and all sorts I got some amazing photos. That evening a big group of us went to the night market...it was amazing really good food and thousands of stalls selling all you can imagine.I manage to get my fav holiday perfume escada for £8 and me,Sarah and lauren bought cute playsuits for just £7...bargains!! Day 8 we decided to have a chill out day as we had a long trip to Laos ahead of us. We managed to let a nice hotel let us use their pool for 100 baht (£2)...and we tanned and chilled for the day :) in the afternoon me and Sarah had an oil massage.they are so cheap out here so we decided to have them weekely..why not?LOL they are great and relaxing but the massage ladies were odd one couldn't speak english and just kept laughing at me and the other asked us two questions how old are you?do you have a bf?...umm interesting choice. In the evening we got picked up from our hostel to begin our long journey to Laos...2 days on the slow boat here we come!!!!
