Well here I am in Hong Kong, along way from home. In the last 48 Hours I have had to unbearleavable experiences.
First of all I got on the plane and about 5 minutes after take off I was convienced I was on the wrong plane and heading to thailand! but was quickly proven wrong thankfully but scarred the hell out of me!
After I landed I couldn't find my hostel and ended up walking into the wrong building where loads of chinese people kept looking at me while i despeartly tried to find the escalators to get the hell out of there, pretty sure they were harmless but was still pretty scary remembering that I had only been In HK for less than one hour! I eventually found my hostel but in a complety different location.
As soon as I arrived I meet an american dude who was waiting in HK to pick up a visa and we went out for some chow at a local restaurant. This is were it gets abit crazy. when we were at the restaurant the waiters didn't speak much english and most of the stuff advertised was not in protions in the menu as descibed. anyway somehow we order beef and rise which was good. then some how the staff thought we had ordered a WHOLE peking duck! which we did'nt..... at least we thought we didn't anyway we ended up having to like slap down our cash for the meal we did ordered and eaten and got the hell out of there while we had a chance before the resturant made us pay for something we didn't want!
Anyway we went to the nearest pub in wan chai and started drink alot of chinese and european beer. after awhile we ended up at a local night club at least I thought it was a local club. Then I realsed that it wasn't any normal night club it was a special night club where pretty much every women in there was a w****! no joke anyway when we had this confirmed, i was like kinda wanting to leave as it felt very dirty. However my american companion decided to stay and pull (i.e. pay for a prostitute!). anyway thats where i left him.
I had been in HK for about 8 hours at this point and had my trusted compass and map. The trains were shut down and I was about 2 miles from my hostel. I thought i could walk it...... anyway 2 and half hours! of walking later I decided to get a taxi to the hostel (which the taxi man spoke no english and all I could say was Piju (beer)...) eventually i got back to the Hostel and my american companion was back before me! lol
anyway the next day I decided to travel HK and went all over up to the peek and through HK stunning parks which had monkeys and gorillas in cages, with no tourists was very different from what you would expect. later that day i meet 3 guy from the uk and started drinking Hui quan beer on the street corner near fortress hill watching the world go buy and alot of drunk chinese people... we blended in perfectly! and they wanted to go to get food again and guess where we ended up.... at the restaurant i was at the night before!.. I knew i couldn't go in there again and managed to talk them out of it.
Today is my 23rd bday and Im heading over to Kowloon to do some site seeing around then later on go out celebrateing my Bday with guys I meet last night which actually turns out to be one of their Bdays as well! what are the odds of that.
anyway take it easy people
