M&Ms Cruise Journal
We had an excellent meal last night. I had lobster and Marilyn had Texas roast beef. What's the difference between British roast beek and the Texas kind? You guessed it, Texas is bigger!
More on our friend from Hull, he's now fallen in love! He's found a lady who was on a diving excursion in St Thomas and they exchanged email addresses. She unfortunately is on another cruise ship so they hope to meet up later. Eastenders is nothing compared to this trip!
We've teamed up with another couple and tried our hand at the trivia quizzes. We managed a win at our third attempt and now have a very nice couple of sets of playing cards (makes a change from luggage labels).
On Thursday we called at Samana in Dominican Republic. The ship anchored in the bay and we were tendered ashore in the life boats. A busy little town with lots of poor people around. We helped boost the economy by taking a drink at a bar where we saw a few shoe shine boys. Someone had their shoes done for a dollar. They speak Spainish here and when we asked they boys why they wer'nt in school it got lost in the translation (convenient). On the way back to the jetty we took a rickshaw taxi. This was a motorbike with a trailer attached. The suspension was non existant and very little guard rails. You couldn't hear our screams above the engine noise!
On the sailaway we managed to see some humpback whales on the bay and a couple of dolphins.
best wishes,
M&M
