M&Ms Cruise Journal
Our next stop, Montego Bay. A lot of people got off the ship today as their fortnight holiday ends. We had a look around the local area but was put off a bit by being advised not to walk to town, take a cab. Then I heard Jamaica wants to bring back the death penalty to try to curb the high number of murders. Jamaica is best forgotton.
After a couple of sea days we arrive in Curacao. A Dutch island and it looks wecoming. We take a walk into the town which looks clean and is built in the dutch style with tall thin houses rising to 4 floors and A shaped at the top. Looks a bit like Bruge. Another duty free port so shopping is the thing. It's very hot and we take a drink at the open air cafe and watch the pontoon swing bridge in action. The Canadian Navy are in town and they pass through the estury and out to sea in their frigate. As you would expect the place is full of Dutchmen drinking heinekin!
The next day we arrive in Bonaire, another Dutch Antilles island, but it's raining. Nevertheless we go into town and pass the yatch the Octopus, owned by Bill Gates. He invites us on-board for a cocktail and canapes. We get along fine until he finds me with an Apple ipod and chucks us off the ship. Nevermind, it's back to the Sea Princess for us.
Love and best wishes,
M&M
