Ground Zero /Wall Street
Another day in New York. We had a worship service together and then talked about what we were going to see today. In 2001, the twin towers of the World Trade Centre fell. Mum and Dad woke up and turned on the TV and saw an aeroplane crash into the World Trade Centre, the towers fell and smashed on the ground. It was sad for everybody because lots of people died that day and it was on purpose. We left on the subway in the afternoon and saw the two empty spaces on the ground, called Ground Zero. We walked on the path and on the way we found that they were building one new World Trade Centre that looks taller than the twin towers, and four other new towers. We walked through a cemetery and into a church where we saw photos of the fire-fighters and police who helped in the tragedy. After that we carried on to have lunch. I had a Philly Cheese Steak and ice tea. It was yummy! We all walked down Wall Street and saw lots of old buildings and at the end of it, we came to South Street Sea Port. It had a mall where we walked through it and had an ice cream. We found an ear piercing shop and asked Emma if she wanted her ears done but she said no. After that we walked back to the subway and came home.
