I had a secret goal when I came out here. It was something that I never thought would be possible, until yesterday, when my dream came true. Yes, yesterday I visited the lighthouse from Round the Twist. My life is now complete and I can leave Australia a happy bunny on Saturday! Haha!
I have had a brilliant week in Melbourne. On Monday I went to Neighbours Night with Kirsty, which was really good fun. We met the guys that play Steve Parker (yippee!) and Karl Kennedy (urgh) and also Boyd Hoyland, who is now a builder and seems perfectly happy with that. Although he may be coming back into Neighbours, as may BILLY KENNEDY as part of the 25 years anniversary, or to celebrate the Kennedys being in it for FIFTEEN YEARS. 15 years! Blimey. So we had our photos taken with the stars and "Steve" caught me up to date, as there's no Neighbours in the outback. Bridget has had a baby girl called India, or something, and Miranda has left, and MORE Robinsons are arriving shortly... And then Karl Kennedy sang with his band. They were good, but it's a bit tragic. He's a bit past it, and still thinks he's it. Yack. It was a really really good evening :)
The next morning I went on the Neighbours tour to Ramsay Street, which is TINY. It's so familiar as well, I felt like I was on my own street! It felt so normal to be standing there! Then we met up with the girl that used to play Michelle Scully. It was a fun tour and our guide was crazy - he knows every plot line there ever was and all the actors and all the gossip. On the way we watched DVDs of old episodes with Kylie and a very young Harold Bishop in them - too funny.
That evening I met up with Jeremy, a distant relative, for dinner, which was lovely. Then yesterday I went on a tour of the Great Ocean Road, which was absolutely brilliant and one of the best days I've had out here. We saw so much - so many beautiful stretches of coastline and landmarks, including the Round the Twist lighthouse (at Split Point), the Twelve Apostles and London Bridge. It was stunning, and got really blustery at one point and the sea was crashing about - I loved it. Our tour guide was absolutely bonkers and could remember so many interesting facts about wherever we were and it was just an absolutely fantastic day. Victoria is beautiful.
