Life in the outback is great fun. I am safe and well and coping with all the bugs and the heat. It's around 38-42 degrees every day, although it is supposed to be cooler by now. It's gets cooler in the night though so it's cold when I'm supposed to get out of bed! It's tried to rain 3 times in the 30-plus days I've been out here, but it only ended up spitting for a couple of minutes each time.
I start work at 7.30am every day, cleaning the kitchen of the main house and then doing the kitchen in our quarters. Dead flies everywhere! Then I work in the store from 9-11am, either stocking the shelves or working in the takeaway. Later on I do the ironing, cleaning, etc., etc. and then I work in the store for another two hours from 4.30. The days go pretty quickly.
I love it out here! In the distance I can see kangaroos bopping around and some calves that have to be hand-reared potter around. There are so so many stars at night and the people are really friendly. I feel like I am seeing proper Australia out here and I love it.
