I'm in Sydney! I arrived just after midday, but wasn't sure we were going to make it when the Greyhound bus broke down temporarily! The driver had stopped at traffic lights on a slope and couldn't get in gear and kept going backwards. We were in the middle lane, and traffice was whooshing all around us, but eventually the driver rang his mate (for all to hear) and sorted it all out. Everyone can hear when the drivers make phone calls - on Monday we could hear the driver calling ahead to the next rest stop to order his burger!

Anyway, I was planning on spending the afternoon doing things like setting up my bank account and the like, but ended up meeting Graeme and Jen, friends I met on Fraser Island. We walked up George Street to Circular Quay, to see the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. It was amazing. I couldn't believe I was finally looking at it all. And it's true, the bridge looks just like the Tyne bridge!!! :) I am so happy to be here and excited to get to know my way around.
