it is odd to be writing here in this blog, after not working on it for two years and now returning to it. so many things have changed, so many parts of my life have experienced winter and rebirth in spring. and now here we are. in many ways, i feel that i am barely a resembelance of that young woman who used to write on here and traveled around Europe.
since i have last written, i have had many different opprotunities to travel... july 07 i traveled to Isreal and followed the steps of Jesus Christ thru the Holy Land...Spring 08 i traveled to Kingston, Jamaica for a week, to stay with my dear friend Maggie who was a long term missionary nurse there.
a week ago i was asked to help out on a mission to haiti march 15 -21. i am still waiting to find out if i will be able to go. i will need to fundraise 2300$ in a matter of days. prayers please.
life is busy, different and grand.
i am engaged to a wonderful man, Stephen Joseph Hepburn. oddly enough, steve is in several of pictures from abroad as we studied in austria together. then just friends, we have always been close but had no idea what God had in store for us.
my life is surrounded by my job, which inspires me everyday. i am a high school religion teacher in weirton, west virigina. my students are amazing and each day they call me to prayer...for if i am not praying, then i am not ministering well to them, and i withold Jesus from them... i just want them to encounter Jesus' incredible love for them...a true and Eucharistic encounter with a living God...
Steve and I have two dogs. Ranger and Toby. Ranger Rex is a mutt that I took in last summer. He is kind of our special needs dog, I think he was exposed to a lot of rough things when he was a puppy. He is spotted so cute and kind of looks like a wild dog slash bingo slash border collie. He has big ears and loves to play. Although he gets really scared of poeple in large groups, he is a very good gaurd dog for me in the apartment. He is Toby and my protector:), at least until steve moves in. I think Ranger will be so happy when Steve moves in, because he is super partial to Steve. Rang is about 11 months old.
Toby Lu was born on November 19, 2008 and she is our 100% golden retreiver sunshine star. She is super joyful and a real blessing to our family. Her and Ranger are best friends, and she is so good for him. Her name (Toby) means "God is good" in Polish. Pretty cool, huh?
