Kate's Chronicles
I am sitting in the Qantas lounge at Hong Kong airport waiting for my third and FINAL flight. Have decided that sitting around these places is one of the most mind-numbing things in the world - had 5 hours in Melbourne and now 6 hours here.....even the shopaholic in me gets bored!!!. As it is early morning I can hardly get stuck into the wine in preparation for my next flight so will have to do this one cold turkey.
Flight from Hobart to Melb was a complete nightmare.. They did manage to move me from row 22 (OMG I've never been back that far before) to row 15 which still ended up with me in a panic attack complete with heart palpitations etc. Its not like they don't know in advance...its on my record. The plane was completely full so I was faced with this wall of bodies that just freaked me out....yuck.
A few wines in the Melbourne lounge helped to settle my nerves and I was completely exhausted from the panic. Beauty I thought....I might actually be able to sleep on the way to Hong Kong. Not to be unfortunately- despite my fatigue I had to keep one eye open to check everything was OK .....so 3 movies later, a few scotches and multiple snacks we arrive.
I look and feel like death warmed up - great impression for my new employers!!! Qantas lounge has lent me an adaptor so at least I can check my emails, write my "tale of woe" blog and get a last minute look at FB before I venture over the Great Firewall.!!!!
The optimist in me hopes that I might be able to access FB in my new location but who knows. Anyway the blogs will keep coming....
Cheers for now. xxxx
