Although it was quite pricey (like most things in Singapore), we decided to stay in a GREAT hostel called Hangout@Mount Emily, a bit out of the centre, as it was a luxurious backpacker place, with lockers in the rooms next to the beds and the comfiest beds ever! It had free internet, a "veg out" room with loads of cusjions and a big tv, and free breakfast thrown in too! We didn't get there till about 2, and then headed down onto Orchard Road at about 5, where we did some shopping (quite a bit actually), got some food from the Breadtalk i went to with my mum all those years ago and went to the cinema to see the new Narnia film which was good.
The next day we got up early to do our laundry (hoping to eradicate any bedbugs lurking around) and then after checking out we got the tube and bus to the zoo! (doing some more shopping on the way ... they shouldn't put clothes shops in tube stations!) The zoo was AMAZING, the best one i've been to, with ditches to enclose the animals rather than big fences, and the highlight was having our photo taken with the orangutans!
Unfortunately we could only spend a couple of hours there as we had to go to the airport, where we were happily reunited with Nat!.....
