A Merry Chritmas to you Uncle Silas : ) Hope you are having a lovely time in Ghana. I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to get in touch-I have no excuse as we are connected through myspace-but it seems this is the best way to keep in touch.
I've been reading your latest blog this morning and it sounds like you are having a lovely and rewarding time. I'm glad things are going well for you and hope ther est of your journey is as fruitful as what's unfolded so far.
Life in the GSB goes on-the New Year sees us rehearsing 4 or 5 new songs and trying to get a little tour sorted for the summer-as well as trying to get some festivals booked. I went to see Roddy Wommble a few weeks back and had the lovely chance of talking to Kate Rusby after the gig-she was lovely.
We spent Christmas Eve in "Spoons" in Bingley(this is my first Christmas with the Viqueiras!!) and we saw Ray and Acky-they send their regards : )
Well, I'd best be off-have more people to contact and talk to...
Take care and hope you continue to have a lovely time...

Jimbob!!! I am glad you are having such a wonder-filled time!!! Merry Christmas to you and all that, and while i'm sure you'll be missing your family and the UK over christmastime, the experience you will be having out there is one you won't often (if ever again) get the chance to experience and to be part of. Missing you here in Foggy Ole' Britannia... canny wait to be seeing you again! Best of luck and excitement and fun on your excursion to the mountains! Do you know anyone in Accra? My flatmat lives there and im sure he would be more than happy to show you around some places if you wanted.... let me know if you fancy it. Although it is sometimes more fun to just get lost and come upon wherever you find yourself by accident, isn't it?!?! Anyways, i best be off - i think i have to go and get christmassly pissed with my family over a game of Pictionary in front of 'It's A Wonderful Life"!!! Haha! Have fun M'Lovely! Love Me!xXx

Hi James, hope you have a very special Xmas, and all the best for the New Year. The band has an exciting 2007 lined up. The Southport Jazz Festival is looming in Feb, with some big names guesting with us,Alan Barnes for one, with Ian Darrington of Wigan Jazz leading the band for the gig. Bet Phil enjoys this for a change. We start rehearsals again on 7th Jan. Lee Gibson of BBC big band fame sang with us at the Clifton, however she had a nasty cold so the vocals were a little tame. The band played well and is improving all the time. Andy, Phil ,MattJohn and Ihave bookedtickets to see Deep Purple in April (dont laugh) Ive been a fan of Ian Paices drummin from first hearing the band, but I never thought I would see them live!
Watch out for those waves man, keep well and enjoy, Merry Xmas jez and Cathy

Dear James,
Just a note to wish you a very happy Christmas. I had lunch with Mum and Doulgas today. Douglas made mackeral pate - yummy. He is doing brilliantly and looking very well. We looked out on bright sunshine at the same time as they were cancelling flights in Heathrow because of fog. I was in between two lot of volunteering at Square Chapel where they are doing an excellent show for children.
I am off to Emma's for Christmas which will be fun. Lots of parties and good things to do - retirement is excellent and recommended for those of my great age!!
Take care - have fun.
love from Annie
