I was hoping to have an early night when we arrived in Byron Bay but that went straight out the window. We were put into a room with 2 lads from the UK and then met another three British lads in the common area. Once we had all met, drinking commenced and we decided to go out but it was a complete fail. Byron Bay closes at 12, so nowhere was open. We had already booked onto our Nimbin Tour but the other lads decided join us next morning so we did it all together. The Nimbin Tour was the strangest thing I have ever done. Although I did not know what to expect. I thought it was a waterfall tour. Turned out to be a tour where you go and buy weed and have space cookies, in a town called Nimbin. Bought some marijuana cookies which were okay. Strange characters loitering the streets trying to sell you mushroom chocolate balls and space cakes. This whole town, a town with one road, was built for pot heads who like to smoke weed all day. The police are very lenient there and tend to not go through that town. As it's a secluded community, which keeps all the nutters in one spot haha. One guy who was sat in the pub garden did not move, we all thought he was dead. However, Byron Bay in a nutshell is a cool hippy town. Not a fan of the hippy scene.
One day me and Kyle went on bikes and explored the town. Danny didn't join us once again as he was sleeping. He sleeps more than a new born baby. We aimed for this tea plantation lake where we thought we could take a dip as it was supposed to be good for your skin. We went down this beaten track which the bikes struggles with. It was a dead end, so we decided to just bike back to the hostel and eat.
