Short flight from Havana to Cancun, only 45 minutes. Yet it still takes a whole day of traveling to get where you want to be. It was heaven when we arrived in Cancun. There were normal shops, food stalls and convenient transport. The Mexicans can speak fairly good English too. Most importantly, the hostel we stayed at was perfect. It had fast, free, working wifi, yipee! Finally, able to connect to wifi properly after 5 weeks has been a struggle. Not for the reason to go on social media but to actually organise my trip and sort out my tax return from Australia ect. The first few days in Cancun consisted of sorting everything out from tax return, student finance and updating my phone. Only on our third day in Cancun did we venture out the hostel and go to the beach. A large group of us from the hostel all went to the beach one day; what a perfect beach it was. The bluest water I have ever seen! The width of the sandy beach was great too, some beaches only have a small amount of sand but not this one. To note, the pictures of the beach I've put up have not been enhanced in any way. This beach is surrounded by extremely expensive hotel resorts, which my parents would love. I would recommend anyone who loves Latin culture, food, nice beaches to come to Cancun.
The hostel is great too, it includes breakfast and dinner, which are both really tasty. However, still craving vegetables and fruit, Mum make me a Sunday Roast please! We have have a new addition to the pack. A guy called Seb from London but his parents are Colombian. Which is perfect as he speaks Spanish. I've told him he can stick with me to help me learn Spanish.
I went to a few shopping malls too here to buy some accessories for my GoPro and some long thin joggers to wear at night to keep the mosquitoes away. They have some really nice shopping malls and shops here, i guess to cater for all the tourists.
