Merry Christmas!!
Well it's Christmas Eve and Steve, Rich, Ian and I are all in San Francisco!! We have been here a total of 24 hours and I love it already!!
After 2 hours fog delay in Heathrow and an 11 hour flight, we were dying to get out on the town and have some fun!! All in all last night was very reserved and consisted of a meal and then checking out the whereabouts of the local haunts...
After some much needed sleep we awoke and it's now Christmas Eve. We spent the day just dossing about. We went down to Alcatraz to buy our tickets for a trip over to the island on Boxing Day. We did enquire as to whether it would be possible to have a Christmas dinner whilst over there, but they were not very accommodating!! Richard is hoping that a few of the inmates might still be lurking and that he is subjected to a picking up the soap in the showers scene!!
We then took a walk along the Pier, saw some smelly sealions and bought 3 pairs of Designer Sunglasses for $10.00 - Bargain!!
After this we decided to head to China Town to try some Dim Sum. Unfortunately the lady who served us didn't speak much English and I have to say that as Chinese isn't really taught in UK schools, communication was a bit of a barrier. Nevertheless we settled down to eat what can only be described as brains of aliens and put the whole thing down to character building!!
A short taxi ride and near death experience later (I think the driver bought his licence) and we were back in the Castro District .....
I spotted a 2 for 1 offer on spray tanning, so convinced Ian to have a wee Christmas skoosh with me ..... can't wait to see how it turns out in 4 hours time!! It was my first time in a spray tanning machine and reminded me a lot of that scene from Friends when Ross miscounts his 'One Missisipis' and ends up as black as your boot!! I'm sure it will be fine though and I will look like a bronzed beauty by this evening .....
Plans for the rest of the day are wine tasting at 5pm and then dinner followed by dinner and then muchos festive drinks at the local bars and clubs!!!
Hope Santa remembers that we are in San Francisco for Christmas, otherwise we will all be sorely disappointed!!
Bye for now
Jon xx
