Hi All,

We spent the past couple of days in Brisbane and Byron Bay - both of which were really nice. Brisbane surprised us as we had heard really awful reports about how naff it was. Admittedly it wasn't the most exciting of places, but a lot of investment has gone into the city and its actually quite clean and pretty.

We hired a car and headed to Byron Bay, which was amazing. It is a quiet little surfer town on the coast. It was just really laid back and had some fab boutique shops and lovely little cafes. We headed round the coast and found a gorgous beach that only had a handful of people on it - so it was paradise to escape the crowds for the afternoon.........

We went to Surfers Paradise on the way back up the coast, which seemed OK, but was pretty commercialised......... The trip was also tainted by the fact that I was busting for the loo by the time we got there and almost had to run into the sea for some relief!!! (luckily I made an emergency dash to a restaurant)

Navigating was interesting on the way back and we must have spent almost an hour going in circles of the city, trying to find our hotel!! Luckily we made it eventually and the Interpol search was called off!!

Today we head to Sydney and will be there until Saturday. Tomorrow is going to be spent chilling on Bondi Beach - so cant wait!!
