Day 19-
Another travel day- so got up early and hit the road with a quick stop at a token American Diner for breakfast, biggest eggs benny I've ever had. S much traffic getting off manhattan island with a last few toots to send us on our way.. Almost good riddance. Soo good to get to to the country side and into some fresh air and wide open spaces, stopped at William Henry Fort where the last of the Mohicans was filmed, stepped outside to a balmy -3deg! Beautiful day though blue sky, was almost like ya blinked and it turned from clear to snow everywhere in the mountains. When we got to the border we stopped at the 24hour duty free shop then hit the custom gate, quite bizarre changing country but never gettin out the car. The guy was friendly enough but asked a lot of questions, the bonjour and mercy we were greeted with was quite amusing. Then the humour ran to when ALL the signs and everything turns to French, can't read a damn thing, even KFC is PFK! It's still KFC in atual bloody France! We got to Tara and tims and hung out for a bit then went out for dinner. We caught the trains (which run on wheels, but aren't buses?) to a sweet smoked meat restaurant had some of the best sandwiches ever! Back home now big day of exploring Montreal tomorrow, snow everywhere here -8 at the mo, not actually that cold tho? Forecast in Calgary is -18 tomorrow, that might be colder.

Day 20-
Had a great day day today, got to see lots of Montreal. Got up and had breakfast then went for a drive through one of the big parks over looking Montreal, was snow and ice everywhere so pretty slippery under foot, realised pretty quickly our footwear isn't gona be sufficient so may need to buy some cheap boots! Sooo cold being outside for a decent time, was sitting round -8. Got some great views of Montreal from all directions. From there we went through the French and Jewish areas for a laugh, then up to the biggest church I've ever seen, the St Joseph Oratory, where the saint Andre bessette's tomb is, pretty amazing spectacle considering I didn't think that stuff was that interesting. Even had a display of his preserved heart held in this shrine.. Creepy. Massive set of organs in the main hall too. We then caught the wheely trains into town to meet Tara for lunch, went for a walk around the underground shopping mall which runs for around 4km! This is great as warm as. Had a look at some SIM cards for the phones but Canada's a bit s*** compared to the US and can't get any prepaid ones that work in the whole country or can give us Internet. So back on the Aus numbers again. We went for Poutine for lunch in Old Montreal, great little city area with all the old buildings, poutine is a delicious mix of fries covered in cheese and gravy, unreal. Went to see another big church down there called the Notre-dame basilica of Montreal, pretty fancy. Quiet day planned tomorrow bit of shopping maybe.

Day 21-
Super lazy day today, got up late and went and had a look round a shopping centre for some snow shoes/boots that are a bit warmer and have more grip than the old RM's, picked up some sweet ones from Payless shoes for $30, stoked. Went for lunch at a place called La Cage, a sweet sports bar/pub with hockey on tv everywhere, looked unreal. However, after 45mins and still no food I tried to ask the lady but she only spoke French and I think thought I was having a go at her, anyways got the meals for free so stoked haha, gave her a good tip though. From there we went into the city to meet Tara after work and another one of her work mates then went for a drink to a fancy bar that was happy hour so two for one drinks, made it slightly reasonable price wise! Then the girls had another little shop and me and Tim went home, Tim cooked up a sweet feed of Buffalo chicken wings for dinner, then off to bed before leaving for Toronto on the train in the morn.
