So the 15th came - after a late night we both decided a good sleep in was required. So we didn't get going until the afternoon - Neen headed off to find the rugby - he has withdrawal symptoms from not seeing any of the world cup. Jacqui is obviously on a high from the South Africa win - please don't hold it against me the English That's my parents!!! Anyway guess what Jacqui headed off yeap SHOPPING! But also did some sight seeing - saw Wall Street and the financial district with lots of old buildings, went to Ground Zero which was a very emotional place, walked down most of Broadway and then met up with Neen in East Village for dinner at a lovely Thai restaurant. The shopping went well hit a shop called Century 21 - designer stuff at low prices - the clothese were pretty poor but the bags and shoes!!!!! WOW
On the 16th we headed off for some more exploring we spent the day in Lower Manhattan - we walked through Battery park and headed off on a cruise around the Harbour so we could see the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge and cruise up the Hudson river. It was great - the queue for the Statue of Liberty cruise was huge - and you can't go up the thing anyway!!!!! Then we headed to Ground Zero and off to the Rockerfeller Centre. We bought tickets to go up the tower for sunset and then headed off to the Rink for dinner. The dinner was great. The views from the Rockerfeller where great - Manhattan in the daylight and at night.
