After getting out of bed at 3.40am, Michael and I arrived at Melbourne airport approximately 5am, having been collected by a driver.
We arrive to find our Emirates flight has been delayed by a half hour, so we check in, head through customs and settle in for some breakfast at cafe Vue in the airport lounge before we depart.
The flight is delayed further by another half hour, our original time of 7.10am is now due to depart at 8.15.
Flight then got into Auckland late, and after purchasing some duty free drinks (verve clique x 2 and Malibu black) we get straight back on the Air Tahiti Nui flight.
After a long day, we finally arrive in Tahiti at about 10.30pm, and arrive at our hotel - the intercontinental Tahiti at just after 11.50pm.
We are still on Melbourne time, so we're hungry for some dinner, ordering room service at 12.30am. We had a matriciana pasta, which was served with fresh pasta and fresh tomatoes. The duck panini was unusual, but delicious with we think cured duck meat, pesto and lettuce within it.
Then straight to bed! Got to get up early for the ferry tomorrow morning to Moorea.
