Today we had booked a hire car to drive around the island.
We sleep in a little, starting with breakfast in the restaurant at 9.30am, and heading off on tour at around 10.30am.
We start at the nearby shops, I buy a few post cards for scrapping and 2 new sarongs after looking in all the shops.
Continuing around the island we make a few stops for photos and to checkout some local areas.
Finding the local supermarket we stock up on juice, water and snacks for the next few days.
We stop for lunch in the main shopping area opposite the Pearl resort, eating at the ice creamery. We both have a salad, mine with the local fish mahi mahi. We manage to find a perfect dish for our table in the smoking room, and I find a nice little red dress.
We continue on the road to the juice factory or distillery and do some tastings of the pineapple wine and juice cocktails. Very cool little place with some souvenirs and a collection of spirits and house made wines including the sparking pineapple wine that we purchased a sample of alongside some vanilla extract.
On to the lycée agriculture farm, where we previously visited on our quad bike tours. We buy some more pineapple vanilla jam as well as pineapple passion fruit.
We continue to the belvedere lookout to take some photos and absorb the view for a few minutes.
Heading back down the mountain, we fill the car with petrol before returning to the resort.
With sunset upon us, I head to the beach to take some photos before a quick dip in the pool and drinks for happy hour.
We enjoy some live music by the Polynesian players and have a quite dinner in the casual dining restaurant at the resort. In order the calamari and octopus linguine and Michael had a beef burger. We finish with a white
Chocolate brownie with m&m's and cola granita before heading back to the room to relax.
