After our language lesson, we went upstairs and had a cultural lecture, focusing on what it feels like to enter a new culture; we immeditately see words, actions and expressions, but it takes longer to recognize beliefs, values, and move past assumptions.
After our lecture, we had lunch. They brought in mats, gave the girls "skirt tablecloths" and had everyone wash their hands before sitting around a big bowls of fish, rice, and vegetables. I was unable to eat from the main bowl (I'm vegetarian and I don't eat fish) but I enjoyed everyone else eat with their hands!
Later that evening, we went back to the apartment for our last night staying there as a group. The next day, we would move into host families!
