Day 15-Had breakfast at Tick Tock diner which is attached to our hotel. Bought a two day bus pass to tour the city. Jumped on an open top bus for the first loop of the downtown tour. Went past Greenwich village, Empire State Building, World trade centre, Chrysler building, Rockefeller centre, Lady Liberty, and the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges. It was freezing cold but the sights of New York were spectacular. There is so much rich, interesting history and the architecture and detail of the buildings is beautiful. We had a really good tour guide who gave us some history. It started to snow so we got off at Times Square for coffee. The city is bustling with people, it's such an exciting place to be in. Headed home for a break from the weather, feeling worse for wear but determined to see the sights! Decided to book a broadway show for the night, headed out to Madame Tussaud's at 4, which was a 10 minute walk. Spent an interesting couple if hours there, was fun and the wax figures were so life like. Had dinner at playwright bar, sheltered from the snow, it was lovely. Walked to broadway and saw "Nice work if you can get it" starring Matthew Broderick and Blythe Danner. Was fabulous, in the Imperial theatre and unreal to think we were in broadway! The show was a musical comedy with lots of dancing so we all enjoyed it. Walked home, the city is more alive at night, had dessert and a cup of tea.
