Where are Millie and Helen today then?
Well we arrived into Singapore v.v.early on tuesday morning after a lovely all night journey from Cairns via Darwin. Spent the morning however walking around the city, seeing the Raffles Hotel and the Harbour of which I took lovely photos which have mysteriously dissapeared, and having our first experience of food from a hawker market. Went to the hustle and bustle of Little India for dinner and ate one of the best currys i have ever tasted. It was off to Sentosa on wednesday, via the cable car trip up to Mt. Faber. A pretty much man made resort, with beaches and posh hotels and loads of attractions ranging from a 4D cinema (which was mega cool) to a wildlife sanctuary. Found the whole place a little fake and strange however could see the attraction of the beaches and hotels if you had been working hard all week. Think the day was summed up though by 'magical sentosa' a light, music and fountain show put on after dark. Was not at all what we expected, with cartoon monkeys and a very how great sentosa was message. Had a river cruise yesterday followed by a trip for dinner to china town, then a few drinks at Boat Quay which turned into a night out at an pretty much expat bar which was v.expensive. However for some reason the very friendly manager decided to pay for most of our drinks. We accepted gratefully but decided to keep our whits about us wandering what he wanted, however it seems all he wanted was for us to enjoy his bar as he just let us enjoy our night whilst he enjoyed himself with his friends! (Helen is feeling the effects of the free drink though today!) Tonight we are off to the Asian Civilisations museum then maybe a quick Singapore Sling at Raffles! Then off tomorrow into Malaysia, first stop two nights in Melaka. Having an amazing experience of Asia so far. Speak soon x
